In my lessons, I offer personalized instruction tailored to students of all levels, ages, and musical styles. My studio is dedicated to preparing students for various assessments and competitions, including:
- Certificate of Merit Piano Exam by MTAC (Music Teacher’ Association of California)
- AP Music Theory Exam
- ABRSM (The Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music) Piano and Theory exams
- Regional or State-Level Competitions of CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music Teacher)
- Solo or Concerto Competitions organized by MTAC (Music Teachers‘ Association of California)
- International piano competitions
By providing a customized approach, I aim to nurture each student's individual strengths and interests while ensuring they are well-prepared for their musical journey and potential competitions.
Lesson Schedule and Requirements:
I conduct lessons during the mornings or afternoons before 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and before 4:00 p.m. on weekends. The following schedule options are available:
- Weekdays: Mornings or afternoons before 6:00 p.m.
- Weekends: Mornings or afternoons before 4:00 p.m.
For students over 8 years old or those preparing for a piano exam beyond level 3, one-hour lessons are required. For beginners, I recommend 45-minute lessons to provide a suitable duration for effective learning and engagement. This tailored approach ensures each student receives the appropriate attention and guidance based on their age and proficiency level.
I am affiliated with the Palo Alto Branch of MTAC (Music Teachers’ Association of California) and CMTANC (Chinese Music Teachers’ Association of Northern California). My students actively participate in Student Recitals organized by these two esteemed associations. For advanced students, I focus on comprehensive preparation for prestigious events such as the concerto competitions of the Palo Alto Philharmonic Orchestra, Solo or Concerto Competitions hosted by MTAC or CAPMT (California Association of Professional Music Teacher), and the Junior Bach Festival. This commitment ensures that my students receive valuable exposure and opportunities to showcase their musical talent at high-profile events.
