Renowned as a major prize winner at prestigious competitions such as the 2021 King’s Peak International Music Competition, the 2021 International Music Award in Vienna/Austria, and the Harrison Winter Concerto Competition, Dr. Wen-Chun Ku has showcased her exceptional talent across the United States and in distinguished venues in her native Taiwan. Her performances include notable venues like Friedberg Concert Hall at Peabody Conservatory, Le Petit Trianon Theatre in San Jose, Recital Hall at Santa Clara University, Palo Alto Art Center, Convention of Music Teachers' Association of California, and the National Concert Hall in Taipei.
Wenchun holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Taipei National University of the Arts, as well as Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she earned a merit scholarship under the mentorship of pianists Benjamin Pasternack and Boris Slutsky. Additionally, she collaborated closely with her mentor Meng-Chieh Liu at the Curtis Institute for several years. Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Wenchun remains an active and accomplished pianist.
Her dedication to teaching is reflected in the success of her students, who have garnered numerous accolades in international competitions and state awards. These achievements include recognition in the International Grande Music Competition (Third place), MTAC Solo Competition of Northern Region (Honorable Mention), CAPMT Regional Competition (Second and Third Prizes), Junior Bach Festival, Princeton Piano Competition, Reno Tahoe Piano Competition, Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition, United States International Competition, American Protege String and Piano Competition, Rabinowith Competition of MTAC Palo Alto Branch, Spotlight Competition, and MTAC Panel Honors Awards.
